AISHA AND MARCUS

Aisha, an urban planner and activist, has spent over a year trying to start a family with her husband, Marcus. They once dreamed of planting roots in Alabama, saving steadily for the home and future their ancestors were denied. But after recent law changes, fertility treatments there became out of reach, forcing them to move to Chicago to pursue the care they need. As a Black woman, Aisha has had to fight to be taken seriously by doctors, carrying both the weight of her body’s struggle and the barriers the world places before her.
