Xin chào! Hello! I’m Mai, and my story… it’s a bit of a rollercoaster.

I moved to Austin from Vietnam two years ago with my husband, Anh. New city, new job—for him. For me? A computer science degree collecting dust and a visa that says, wait your turn.

Then came the PCOS diagnosis. Irregular periods, fertility struggles, hormone charts in English. I smile and nod a lot in doctor’s offices. Sometimes I cry after.
The language barrier doesn’t help—some days it feels like my body speaks one language, the doctor another, and I’m stuck translating both.

Back home, everyone’s asking when we’ll have kids. Here, I’m downloading apps just to understand my own body. It’s weird—mixing old prayers with new tech, tradition with tracking.

But I’m figuring it out. Between cultures, between check-ups.
Come with me. I’ll show you what it’s like.
